"Forest school is an inspirational process that offers all learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.” - The Forest School Association
The N forest school programme provides daily opportunities for children to engage with nature, feed their imagination and gain an understanding of the environment. All of our 3-5s go into the forest 2 hours everyday, whatever the weather. We believe the natural world provides everything children need to develop into happy, active, creative and healthy individuals.
In the N forest school programme activities are led by the children’s current interests, making them motivated and active learners – ready to get stuck in, creative and muddy! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, children are given freedom to explore their surroundings and are trusted to judge risks and take on responsibilities.
Being in an outdoor environment has a positive impact on all areas of children’s learning. Through achievable challenges, they grow more confident and independent. They get stronger and healthier through daily exercise and being outside in the different seasons. Using all their senses, children explore, investigate, ask questions and find solutions.
